Private training with indigenous elders from North America and Tibet helped develop her understanding of the spiritual power of symbols and colors. University and other studies have given her insight into the visual languages of diverse cultures.

As a counselor, healer and spiritual teacher, Lighthawk has long been fascinated with the efficiency of image. "Color, line and form, individually and collectively, have the ability to transcend resistance, communicate a message, radiate energy, and evoke a resonant vibration in the viewer. "

With the love and encouragement of her many friends and her sweetheart, Kai, she now enjoys combining her wisdom, imagination, psycho-spiritual training and unusual abilities with her painting and photographic talent. Nicknamed 'The Artistic Mystic' by her friends, Lighthawk now shares the imagery she co-creates with a larger audience.

"This journey is about communication. There are plenty of people with more painterly skills than I currently possess. What makes this fun for me is that the work is powerful and effective. When I work, I pray, I meditate, and I ask that each image be embued with Spirit. Each piece acts as a transmittor, a radiator, a doorway to a higher reality. They are alive and potent transformers that bless the spaces in which they're displayed and activate the people who adopt them."

For the Artistic Mystic, painting is another tool for spiritual healing and soulful development. She sees her studio as a temple and views the act of creation as a sacred trust. The results are paintings that speak to the viewer at a deep level: art on a mission, art from the heart, Art for Transformation.
